what is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is assessment and treatment to assist in the restoration, maintenance and optimization of clients’ mobility, function, and overall well being. Physiotherapists help to get you back to life which may include work, sport or school needs. Physiotherapy is an active recovery process that may include other methods to help optimize pain and function such as manual therapy and/or acupuncture.

What can I expect at my first physiotherapy appointment?

You will have a one-on-one session with your therapist where they will learn about you and your needs. Overall this may include:

Orthopaedic, Pelvic Health Injuries and/or conditions:

In-person or virtual one-to-one physiotherapy following musculoskeletal injuries or dysfunction. For example, neck pain, back pain, and pelvic health conditions.

Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT)

In-person or virtual one-to-one physiotherapy for those experiencing vestibular disorders that may include dizziness, vertigo, gaze instability, imbalance and/or falls.

Concussion Rehabilitation

In-person or virtual one-to-one physiotherapy following concussion or mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).
